Bye Bye 914........time to sell And now Sold.

Post by middlefour1 »

Yesterday I said goodbye to YKR 662J, my 1970 914 that has been in my safe keeping for just over 25 years. It has not been a quick or easy decision to part with the car but for me the time is right, or as right as it ever would be. The car is now with Angus and the team at Greatworth who will be selling the car for me.

It's been a big part of our life for a long time now and we have met some great folk and made some wonderful friendships over the years, and of course all your great enthusiasts here on DDk, the best Porsche forum in the world.

So there we are, it's a great car with a fantastic history and I'm sure it will go to a good home and have many more miles put on the clock. Yesterday was a sad day.

The car is now with the new owner and he is very pleased. I would like to put on record just how brilliant Greatworth Classics have been. Angus and the team always go that extra mile and I could not be happier with the way they have dealt with the sale of my car. We currently read so many tales of dodgy and down right criminal dealers these days but Greatworth really are the good guys, in my book the best. Thanks Angus, Amanda, Paul and Adam, a great team!!

Sad to see but, your'e right, there comes a point when it's time to move on. Had your car been for sale at the beginning of the year, it might well have ended up in Cornwall!

Steve - what a shock - I always assumed you'd have the 914 for ever!

Hope you stick around on here.

Steve.....not sure what year but think we met at a show - maybe Walton Hall...which always had a good 914 display - and then bumped in to you at various events over the years. I thought your fourteen was a defo 'forever' car....

I'm sure you will have struggled to make the decision...

Best wishes and no doubt see you somewhere sometime.

Take it easy

Steve

Sad to hear you are selling. We met at the flat 4 drive the other year, always thought that your car looked really good, (had a real nose over it when you weren't looking).

Hope the sale goes well and that you stay in the scene

I wish I've had some spare pennies as I thought it was a loving car :) The new owner will enjoy it.

Its a sad happy situation for us. Sad that Steve & Christine are selling the car of course. But happy to have looked after it for the last few years and looking forward to helping the next owner start a new chapter its history.
As soon as it stops raining we'll take some pics and post it up in cars for sale. Meanwhile, if anyone on here is interested please get in touch with me directly on 07785 975612. The advertised price will be £22,950.

Well didn't see that coming.
Thought you and your 14 were joined at the hip.
Sure we'll catch up again in the not too distant.
Be lucky Steve.
