Show me your stance! - Advice needed

Post by sCrapp »

Hi all,
I'm sure it's commonly asked, but who doesnt like an excuse to post a picture of their car!

1.My 1970 911t is wanting suspension work. The proper stuff.
I'm thinking track set up. But I mostly drive it on the road.
It needs to sit as it does now preferably, but needs actual travel, as it's riding on bumpstops.
Needs to be well set up and perform the best it can without sacrificing that stance.

2. The car has 240bhp, but standard brakes, so they need to get better too, best option for powerful brakes under 15" wheels please!

Pictures of your set up please! Show it off!
I'll figure out how to post a picture of mine shortly!
Thanks in advance!

Here are some pictures! They may be a bit pixelated as I had to resize them to attach them...

Too low is a sure fire murder of your fuel tank supply union or your gearbox, been there for 2 weekends decades ago.
The car above I have always thought Perfect the for looks, performance and usability.

Good luck with the brakes, but spend the money and early turbo brakes will go inside the wheel but there are other options.

Your car is one of those which inspired my project.

When sorting my 3.0SC for ‘fast road’ and trackday use, Tuthill advised me standard SC brakes should be fine on a lightened car if in good fettle and with decent pads & fluid. To date that’s seemed good advice and saved me significant £ on 930 of C16 upgrades.

The op has T front struts which limit things a bit for the brakes, but I fitted A type callipers and 73 thickness discs, cross drilled and the magic if a tad noise you Carbone pads.
The latter made a huge difference braking well from high and low speeds.
They grumble and squeal a bit, real classic car stuff but work.

A lot can be done to the early 911 without spending a lot as you say. :)
