Great photos as always Tom !
Brings back happy memories - I was over for Rennsport Reunion some years ago & spent a few weeks driving down the coast from San Francisco to LA (& back).
California is certainly one of the places (I think) I could happily relocate to ...

Great photo's. The Porsche content there is infectious. Will be back there for the 3rd year in a row doing the LA lit week next year.

Hi Tom,
Lovely pics. We did a similar-ish family trip to CA earlier in the year. I admire your skill in working car-related activities into the schedule. Closest I got was an early morning trip to Sierra Madre to collect some bits. And dinner with Jamie and family in LA, which was a great pleasure but we didn't talk about cars much.
Thanks for posting!
Cheers, Richard.

Re: California 2018 - Summer Holiday
Hang on, I do have two holiday snaps with cars in them.
We rented a house in Death Vally for a little while. Absolute middle of nowhere.
Here's a pic which, if closely observed, can be seen to include our super-classy Jeep rental (of which I became curiously fond over the 3 weeks):
Not much to hit in the desert, so taught my youngest (age 10) to drive:
Like Dave, I have begun early plotting to make sure I get to the 2019 Lit Meet...

Thanks everyone for the positive comments on the pictures, I have lots more and will post these when I get a chance.
Loved the holiday, truly stunning area.
I could live there, the only thing that puts me off, the roads are far too busy, they can't drive and they are pretty rude.

I follow Period Correct on Instagram, they post some really cool images and hold monthly car meets at the store. One feature of the shop is the car display which changes periodically, anything from Group B Lancia to the BMW 1600 can be on display. Nice touch.
There are in Costa Mesa close to where we staying, nice store.

Re: California 2018 - Summer Holiday
Spent a full day in LA, did as much as we could. Toured around Beverly Hills looking at houses that could pass for hotels, shopped in Melrose Ave (cool shops), watched kids run between traffic and swarm around a you tube celebrity giving away t-shirts, wandered up and down Rodeo Drive and then ate at Nobu – David Spade from Grown Ups wandered in while we were there. Crazy town.
In between all of this I manged to sneak in a visit to the Peterson Museum hosting the Porsche effect along with the normal display of motoring icons. It was close to closing time and the attendants were all talking so we just wandered in without paying, result! Left a donation and bought a tshirt.

Re: California 2018 - Summer Holiday
I have seen some footage of Cars and Coffee meets in America when all sort of exotica is on display, prior to going on holiday I had looked on a few forums to see if anything was planned. Nothing, we had missed a few by days. The closest I would get was a trip to the local Pagani Dealer in Newport Beach, nice to see these up close. The level of detail is incredible, the dash and instruments are like jewel like in terms of quality.

Every Saturday morning - Cars & Coffee at the Enderle Center in Orange County - Porsches and VWs mainly. You get the R Gruppe guys there. Great coffee and great breakfast.
Also Donut Derelicts in Huntington Beach - a hardcore hot-rod turnout. Both start early, like 6.00am, or earlier...

....then as luck would have it, sitting enjoying a morning coffee with my wife, three Paganis and a GT40 zipped past with a couple of Ferraris and various Lamborghinis. The local Police force had organised a charity day collecting money for the special Olympics. The show was walking distance from where were staying, quick trip home to collect my son and my camera.
