Mystery Box

Can anyone identify the box shown. I found it under the foot board on stripping the car. It was not connected to anything. I have removed an American fitted alarm system and think it may be connected.

Looks to be a power supply to provide 12 volts, and in this application from 6V input. It is most likely related to the alarm system.

Yep my car had one too, but in my case for the radio. All gone now but it is useful to power a timing light when adjusting the distributor.

What a clever idea. My timing light is 12v and I was wondering how I could set the timing on this car

Yes Peter, I keep my 6v - 12v converter in a small bag with the timing light in the tool set. I also have in the garage, a fan cooled transformer out of an old computer that outputs a nice 12 volts for the timing light.
