Hi.
Q1..
I have lost my photo copies of the wiring diagram for a 218 standard.
Does anyone have a copy I could please borrow or could you post some images?
Q2....
Does anyone have any advice on how best to paint a tractor?
All in one go or in stages.
Cheers in advance.
John.

Hi John
I think I have the electrical book here - will check later for you.
re painting, we mulled this one over for quite a while - in the end we went for painting all the tractor separately (mine was down to the bare chassis) but I have little doubt that when they were built they'd have been pretty much all assembled before being painted.

Hi Ian.
That's great thanks.
Really appreciate it.
Did you get yours blasted or cleaned up and rubbed down.
Don't think the engine castings would take to being blasted.
Cheers.

Hi John
all the bolt on panels were blasted - I cleaned the chassis and engine down by hand (it was a pretty crappy (literally) job)
will check for the electrical book now.

Re: Nearly ready for electrics and paining.
Hi John,
like Ian I have had anything that I could remove blasted. Im also doing the chassis and engine by hand as I don't want the risk of grit getting in any places I can't get to. Depending on what the surface is like underneath you don't have to go down to bare metal. As long as you sand it smooth and you're painting the same colour the old paint can be used as an undercoat. All depends how far you want to go e.g concours or tidy.

Ian / Tom.
Thanks for your advice.
I'll get the removable parts blasted and rub the rest down.
Cheers.
