Rubber - what do you run?

Hi,
Torn between Michelin XZX and Vredesteins. But, also see cheap Continental CT22 that would fit my 68 5.5 inch rims. Any help and thoughts gratefully received.

I'd have thought Blockleys on a 912 with 5.5 inch rims would works a treat?

Cheapo option of Vredesteins TTrac for me. Work nicely but I haven't tried the others.

Vredstein sprint classics for me.
Cheap look the part and are quite predictable in the wet and dry

I've got 165x15 Nankang M&S tyres at £39 each fitted to my 356C and it handles and corners like you wouldn't believe possible. It's better than my 987 on very bumpy roads. I presume it is because the car only weighs 800 kilos.
My AH3000 slides unpredictably at much lower speeds on Veredesteins which are as good as anything on a Healey.

However i think the real answer is to read this independent article written by a German magazine

I was a little surprised by the XWX results in the wet, but they didn't test it on extended time performance, and high speed directional stability which is where Michelin thrive. the features that Michelin tend to be good at are the things that diminished their wet performance. I am a big Michelin fan, specially the XAS which is what they do a 165 tyre in. However make your own minds up. but please don't buy on price. I'm trying to make a living here.
Seriously do you buy a £ 10,000 amplifier and then buy your speakers from Aldi. Would you like to see Marlyn Monroe wearing Nora Batties leg warmers.
