Gear knob retention / tolerance ring
The gear knob on my '72 is almost completely unrestrained at present. I guess I could try a new tolerance ring - does anyone know a good source in the UK?
Alternatively, has anyone found a better way of retaining the knob?
Thanks, Jon

I have zero mechanical ability but I have effected this particular repair with lasting success, using the worn crush washer / spacer and an old Marlboro Lights packet.

Re: Gear knob retention / tolerance ring
I used a thin strip of duck tape to get the right size..it moves ever so slightly after a long drive, so I have a gentle routine of making minute adjustments whilst at traffic lights ...

The very part, thanks. Rose Passion have the part for four quid, shame it turns into £20 by the time they have finished.

In the past I've got them from Roger Bray or Type 911
