DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

My 1966 911* was imported from the US to Finland and then to Wales. It was rallied extensively by the Finnish owner (who I have previously contacted) and to a lesser degree by Terry Brown in Wales who still (in his 70s) rallies Escorts. The internet has yielded numerous photos of the car (referred to by the Finnish chap as the "Black Rocket") in action. Here are some of them.....great shots.

*Never raced or rallied. Only ever taken out in fine weather.

Hahahaha. No, right now it's in a few bits...engine rebuild underway, new wiring loom, interior being sorted etc etc...all at Fenn Lane....to take it more to a road and track car than a rally car....it's also had new floors and sills.

So things have taken a different path now as the extent of the bodywork needed, how stripped down the car was anyway and a desire to have it back in its original light ivory means its currently looking like this....

Brilliant photos, brought back some memories, I used to navigate in one for a German friend of mine. As payback I was allowed to sprint the car at RAF Wildenrath on the runway (on Sundays when the airbase was closed) with BAMA and the RAFMSA.

Car nearing paint now which is exciting.
