Portland Cars and Coffee

Post by jury »

Went along to a local Cars and Coffee meet on Saturday, I like cars but I am more of a tea guy. Both my cars are still not registered (still not taken my test  ), so went along with my friend and his newly imported Sapphire Cosworth. There was a random mix of cars and people, but they were a friendly bunch. The event is weekly so can hopefully update this thread as and when, and of course next time I can hopefully attend in a Porsche preferably a grey one :)

Only had my phone with me, this weeks feature theme was MOPAR (already had the Porsche week), which included a ''gentleman start your engines event'' at 9am....god bless those Americans.

There was another regular event this evening which takes place under one of the cities ''cool urban'' bridges...was going to go but knackered after a full day at the Zoo...next time :)

Currently has a 21 day trip sticker in the back window, which makes it legal to drive. The car went through DEQ (emissions) testing last week, there is some confusion as this car was never fitted with a Catalytic converter, but the model technically was. It has to go through another test this week and then hopefully will get registered after that.

Some great cars there but the Yanks need to watch out with VW emissions thing.

if a 5.7 litre V8 ( Chevy Suburban ) is less damaging to the environment than a 1.8 diesel I will eat a penguin.

Arrived late ish so parked in overspill area. Was told upon leaving that next time I will be ushered to the front. Apprently the car drew quite a crowd, and got some interest on the world of social media.....I was inside trying to get warm.

So we are up and running in the 'scene', with more to come
