I've just had some clocks serviced by someone highly recommended to me. I gave him my 911 clock too as it has never really run correctly. It is now back and running perfectly. Done by a guy called Stephen Ardley - http://www.clock-repairs.com

He knows his stuff and has done some lovely work on very complicated antique clocks. He got all the necessary parts for my Porsche clock from Kienzle and I promised I'd give him a plug, so here it is. Not cheap but good.

PS, don't spray WD40 into them!!!

You mention not cheap, how much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm interested too, was gonna have a crack myself but I saw a post a few weeks ago that the K. clocks are actually of very high quality, so decided against it, but want to get it done.

Can't say what it cost as he did it for nothing as we've spent a bit with him over the last few months Compared to other highly regarded 'experts' who've serviced my clocks he's fantastic. I promised I'd give him a plug. Give him a call and I'm sure he'll give you a rough idea.

I like clocks so I keep them serviced, others may not think its worth the money.

I notice that Octane has a watch feature. Cars and clocks aren't that far apart to those who love machinery...

My clock isn't working..

How do I get it out?

If its the same as my 2.4, the clock should be located in the dash by a rubber gasket/grommet. Just winkle the clock back towards you (into the 'cockpit' (holding the surround), it should just pull straight out. Label the wires, and check that the bulb (also just pulls out with it's holder) looks nice and clean. If the bulb's been in there for ages it might be a bit 'chromey': replace as nec.
