When hot rods were very much my 'thing' in the 70's USA vintage Tin was almost unheard of, very rarely a Model A or b would surface from within the UK.
Most died a violent death on the Figure of *'s tracks for Jallopy racing/stock car racing.

And now we can regularly see this fab sight.

I sold my USA origin Ford Model A to make room/finance my 911.

Phat Phender Phords as they were know in my hot rod days of the 70's. Fab cars and look very usable.
Closest we had here was the Ford Pilot with flathead V8.

While writing an small article on my Ford Y Type for a Club magazine today, found some old pics, which bought back some real memories of the fabulous 70's

Distracted by a very pretty girl down south, drove hard into the back of a Morris Minor...

And me and two mates back then doing the rebuild after...

My son’s Five Window Coupe is almost ready bar the sign writing it had in the day. It’s an original restored rather than a new build and has all the best bits and is built to be as far as possible, identical to its magazine photos of the day.

Steering geometry and spring rates have been altered to make it nice to drive. Even the fastest of the day were pretty amateurish builds.

The engine is an early Hemi bored, gasflowed etc with an Iskendarian cam to produce 390bhp at just under 7000rpm. The engine is a work of art if unbelievably heavy

He’s just bought a Classic 911 as well, which is being delayed by the need of a registration document thanks to DVLA uselessness. It’s an eighties model with a 3.4 litre engine and 285 bhp built by one of the 911 specialists for himself, so I’m looking forward to seeing it and praying it’s not the unreliable disasters my Boxsters have been. How can such beautifully made car have so many problems.

Isn’t that a Restomod rather than a custom car or hotrod
