Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice. I'm looking to replace the shocks on my 65 912 all round and wanted to see what people though of the Koni vs Bilsteins. My car is running pretty low as you can see here. If anyone has and comments let me know.

Try a search on 912 BBS there is quite a lot of discussion about the merits of both types?

My 912 had brand new Koni's on when I acquired it. It also had the std factory "tippy toe" ride heights that makes 912's (and 930 Turbo's for that matter) look as though something is wrong!

Handling and ride was too "floaty" by any measure.

I switched to Bilsteins all around, its a 67 car and needed a spacing collar machining up for the front Bilstein inserts to fit correctly.

The ride height was also set to give a better stance to the car at the same time...neither too low or too high.

Result.... a dramatic improvement, its still on the soft side of hard but overall its pretty good. I have to say though that my 62 356B on Spax's is better!!

In short, given the availability of shocks to fit the 912, I would go for the Bilsteins again
