Wasn't sure if this was ever going to happen, the body shop who are in charge of bringing my car back to life have finally cleared their feet and laid out all of the panels ready to start. Happy days. Feels like day 1 again, I will try and provide updates as things progress.

I had forgotten how many parts I had actually bought, not sure how much will be left of the original car. Its almost a full transplant.

The torsion tube was cut out of a car from America and shipped over, its almost like new after being media blasted and then a quick coat or red lead.

and the sorry shell

pay no attention to the Aston Martin in the background, all the metal is far more interesting. :)

Well I can only see the centre tunnel and the top of the bulkhead that's missing from the pile of panels ......

Holy moly. I thought I was brave with the Doctors car.

My best wishes

That really is quite a sight!
Hope the body shop will document and you can post the process they use on here.

Ah, that brings back memories. :)
That's going to be a thoroughly rebuilt shell. Rust free and strong.
I hope it goes well, we're rooting for you.... 8)

Where do you start! :)

As Paul said it looks exactly like a fresh 911 shell build much like his '74

And I didn't have to replace seat pans, nor torsion tube, nor rear shelf, nor dash top.
Yours looks even more extensive than mine.

True.

Whilst I can see the financial pain sitting right there on the floor you'll save in rework/assembly costs and end up with a more solid shell.

Possibly cheaper this way around than traditional repair? Answers on a postcard! :)

I know Barry has said a few times that it can be more cost effective to replace complete big panels than lots of scatch built smaller areas

Care to share the rough cost of that pile of fresh 911 metal?
