How's the engine and gearbox coming on? Hopefully not a Pandora's box like mine

Hi Adam - the engine and 'box are on a slow burn at Redtek at the moment ... I'm not expecting the shell back from Darren until the end of March when I will start to fit up as much as I am able or want to before Gary takes over. Nick checked over the engine when it first arrived and disappointingly I need a replacement intermediate gear, rockers, cams and throttle bodies, oh well just another £2000 on unbudgeted parts.

But new JE Pistons have been bought, cylinders blasted and refinished and the case halves have been shuffle pinned, the main journal bore line honed, barrel decks refaced, time serts fitted and the oil by-pass mod done.

Sounds very similar to mine.....I only wanted a 'quick look' and opened a can of worms! Hopefully he'll have it done in time :)

Slightly easier decision for me as my engine was already disassembled when I got it.

So that's what the engine looks like when it's not all covered in oil and rust. Hmm, who knew?

Very cool, can't wait to see the next phase...

Hi Adam - called in to see Darren last week. Preparation on the shell is almost complete so it should be back in epoxy very soon...

On the way home I called in at Redtek to have a proper look at progress on the engine build.

My distributor needed a rebuild and I'm planning to use a MSD 6AL, so whilst I was there Nick showed me the difference between the standard CDI and the MSD unit.

75. In to Epoxy again for the second and final time.

After a couple of weeks of hard graft by Chris and Rich it's back in epoxy and other than a little detailing the body is complete and as slab sided as they come according to Darren. The car will be left for a week to allow the fresh epoxy to cure before moving on to high build primer, seam sealing, underseal etc and finally colour.

Lovely paint Kieron, she'll getting some proper hardening between coats! What did you opt for on the interior?

Hi Adam - all the trim is with Garry. I've opted to retrim as it left the factory so black with pepita inserts on Recaro Sports seat. I saw you're seats when I was at Garry's and really like the perforated black on black ...I almost changed my mind...
