Simon next to us is from Ireland. He has had this car for over 30 years. A few cars in the French National Championship have been going off the road but never nice to see a car come back like this Image

Possibly a Matra D'Jet? Although without the front view not a conclusive answer. Over to Andy..............

.

It's not a Rene Bonnet/Matra Djet - rear window/exterior door handles/wheels (Rene Bonnet/Matra used the Renault 3-stud wheel pattern) are all wrong.

I think it's Fiat-based - I don't know whether it's the angle of the shot but the proportions are puzzling me ...

That’s a chappe et gessalin 1000 and I win.

I think they’ve got Simca bits.

I don’t think any Italian design house would have signed off those flanks.

Clever clogs. Closer examination you can see 'CG' on both the steering wheel horn push and on the dashboard passenger side.

I saw one once at a show north of Paris years ago.

If I’m honest it took me a Google to get the name exactly right, my first guess was chapeau et something.

Had a fabulous weekend in the Lola at Shelsley Walsh.
A few issues, a few frights, normal stuff but at long last took a good 0.5 sec of my long standing personal best, 31.08 from 31.52

Came 2nd in class both timed runs, 6 in the class = lots of Championship points.
