Brilliant Winston, great effort.
Just the sort of think my Great Grandad did back in the 1880's.

I have the above for sale as surplus stock. I know that there are a few officionados' out there. So, I thought I might give you folks a heads-up. Strictly it should be in the For Sale items, but, it will not appeal to everyone at large. So I have left a heads-up here.

eBay Item No. : 185192403738

Asking : £1,600

If you need any more info, please ask.

Nobody watching the Tour de France?
In my eyes it's been the best tour for many years.
Jumbo Visma taking apart Pog during the last 60k of the stage a couple of days ago....
Tom Pidcock on Alpe d'Huez...what can one say? 22 years old and mature beyong his years. A future Tour winner?
Resurgance of Froome...I'm not a Froome fan but chapeau to his mighty form after his potentially career (and life?) threatening injuries.

I was in Lille for the start of a stage. Then got to visit holy ground.

Great tour this year. GT hasn't crash and perhaps he can do something next week. Fred Wright 2nd in today's stage is a local. He used to ride with VCL and train on Herne Hill Track.

I might point out to my son that 3 locals he used to train and race against now have an Olympic Silver Medal, 2 Junior WC and, in Fred's case, a very good tour. ImageImageImage

Indeed!
Biggest difference in 60 odd years of following the TdF is the TV coverge, which was scant at best in the '60's.
Nearest i got back then was finding Miroir du Tour magazines in a seedy store in the back of Leed Kirkgate market.

I used to have dozens of copies of Miroir du Cyclisme and Miroir du Tour dating back to the early 1950s, and soaked up everything I could learn about the Anquetil years. Sadly lost them all following a disastrous marriage break-up... :(

The battle on the Puy de Dome in 1964 will forever live on in cycling legend.
