Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Nice work on the lid. If your going the extra to look more authentic, I've got these tabs in each corner of the grill for the deck lid rack mounting.
There's also a slot at the bottom as pictured
And two slots at the top

Yes. Been thinking about the tabs too... :D
There are traces of the slots from the mold so they will come soon.. The mold was made from an original.

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Finally got the parts together.
Here still just glued together with resin.
Had to testfit on body just to confirm it still is in shape...
I use classic Mini hinges.

After testfitment I could fiberglass the partsfully.

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Thanks. Been very slow since the last update.
Atleast I got the bus nosecone permanently mounted now and filled oil in the transmission. With the new nosecone and the modified rear transmissionmount the whole drivetrain will be lifted 5cm. Thanks to this the engine will sit more correct in relation to the body.
Also hade one spraycan of the blue my old Golf MkIII that I tested and decided to use for this car...
Ordered all new ignitionparts for the engine so I will teststart it very soon just to see the condition of it. I must use this for the first registration after the modifications as it it "original to the donorcar"...
About a week ago I got the rear bumpermounts finally welded.....

Re: Pre-A Outlaw replica.
Long time since last post.. Not much have happened but yesterday I got some progress though..
Finally welded the frontbumpermounts into one pieces. Had to reshape them some to work. Feels good now when the bumper is solidly mounted and looks right from the front...! :D
Also tried to prefit rearbumper mounts and main part for the bumperbuild.
After this I cut up an other bug frontbumper for the remaining parts of the long rear bodybumper...
And last thing I did yesterday was to weld the front innerwheelwell panels to the chassis. Now I just have to cut suitable fiberglass sheets to fil up the gaps between the steelpanels and fiberglass body...
