Missing hand throttle component(s)

I decided that it was time to bring the hand throttle into play earlier today as it's not worked since I got my car however I am faced with (yet another) small challenge...
In the transmission tunnel, attached at 90 degrees to the hand throttle lever, is a metal dowel pin about 2" long with a circlip fitted at the end furthest from the throttle lever. Additionally a clamping piece is attached to the throttle cable, but there is nothing to connect the dowel pin to the clamping piece and therefore the throttle cable is inoperative.
I have had a good scavenge around the transmission tunnel, but all I found was grease, a few pieces of chocolate and peanut looking crumbs (I kid you not).
Has anybody got any ideas what the missing component looks like? Even better, has anybody got one of these that they are willing to let go?
Any assistance with this one would be greatly appreciated.
