Well I finally got a Chesil (sold my last one 2 years ago and really really missed it) and I am looking for an owner's manual. I scanned my last owner's manual but deleted it when I sold my car!

What I am looking for specifically in the manual is the diagram showing the correct jacking points for the car. For the life of me I can't remember where you are supposed to safely jack the car up. Can anybody shed some light on this for me please?

The front and rear torsion bar housings are pretty robust

Cheers Bruce, yeh I thought the front torsion bar area for sure but couldn't be so sure about the back if it was the gearbox area or torsion bars to jack up on. Thanks again, pick up the car today at lunchtime and the sun is shinning too!

If you're lifting a corner, the end of the rear torsion bar housing works well. If you want the whole back end up use the gearbox bellhousing, if your trolley jack is long enough. Plenty will use the crankcase sump as a jacking point (me included) but it is not totally without risk.
