Ive had no problems with mine, and its been on the car now for about eight years. Could the problem be with the voltage stabilisor ? just a thought as it seems strange to have two duff ones

Oliver mine went as soon as i plugged it in. Apparantly they are crap so i sent mine to speedy cables and got it rebuilt with decent components. Cant remember price though sorry.

Speedy by name, not speedy by nature :)

My speedo (with a broken trip) took them about 3 months to repair...

About 3 or 4 weeks but i had an iva deadline and they were also doing the speedo calibration.

When I called in to North Hollywood Speedo a few weeks ago one guy was ripping apart a batch of replica 356 tachos & 'binning' the sub-standard internals - to be replaced with their own proven mechanisms. These gauges had been sent to them by one of the replica Speedster manufacturers - don't know if it was a US- or UK-based company though.

I got in touch with supplier Sierra Madre & thay dont sell any more :x I wonder why :? another idea would be to fit the gubbins of another tach that will work for more than a week

someone mentioned there was a ropey batch of these a couple if years ago. Vintage Speedsters said for me to send it to them for fixing but the cost was prohibitive tbh hence getting it fixed myself.

They even offered to pay $30 towards the repair but I have completely forgotten about that until now lol!

You can use the internals of the 914 tacho from what l hear over the pond. http://www.Speedsterowners.com

Trouble is getting old of one in the first place. Failing that sent it to North Hollywood speedo's, will put a bet on it, it will get back quicker than Speedy cables
