What engines fit to the 915 gearbox?

The most obvious one is the Subaru 2 litre flat 4 and you can get a kit to make the mating of engine-to-box painless using a 911 clutch.
Has anyone any other ideas of any engine (preferably over 2 litres) that will go on a 915 box??
Any ideas welcome.
I like the idea of a BMW 4 pot or an AUDI 4 pot etc.
