Speedsters & Tall People

I have been wondering how practical Speedsters are for tall people like myself? (I'm 6'1) I'm thinking in particular with the hood up, but also with the hood down given that the windscreen is so low.
Cheers
Dan.

I'd be using replica Speedster bucket seats, if this were to happen. I'd prefer a coupe as you may know, but I havent ruled out a Speedster.

Dan
have a look at the "what you up to " thread. I'm in the process of putting in some bucket seats with home made runners. Like l said you can set the height to what ever really.
Have you spoke to M&W about your coupe?? how long will you have to wait for a body?? When l was looking for a speedster body they told me i'd have to wait a year for a body as the were busy with the 904... but that was before the recession.

Hi Dan,
I'm six foot and don't have a problem! Theses are my seats:
mine are fixed to the floor of the car and my head sits well below the top of the screen, I tend to drive with the seat quite far back and slide down in it (if that makes sense?) I find it a comfortable drive even on a long journey, the longest was back from Chesil to Nottm last year about 5 hours +

Thanks for the replies chaps. I'm still saving for the kit alas. Will need at least the rest of this year to raise the funds

If I have to wait another year on top of that I'll have to look elsewhere I'm afraid.
EDIT- actually if delivery time was 12'months, on second thoughts that won't be too bad at all. Pleanty to keep me busy collecting bits and working on the chassis etc so yeah, that'd be ok really.

I'm just over 6 ft and used to struggle with the hood up (and used to feel the top of the windscreen frame was in my sight line) until I switched from the early Chesil "modern" (astra) seats to late Chesil "modern" seats (mx-5).
These give me ample headroom on standard runners even without a lowered floorpan, and i'm tucked right down in the car.
