Nice work!

love the engine mount jacking pad and the cut away for easy gearbox removal.
Solexes look odd as they are so rare to me! :cyclopsani:

Started to refit window glass and got both sides done tonight, "glass" is mostly 6mm Perspex as per FIA regs, also fitted the race seat - or should I say got it in to the right position and fits lovely despite by larger than normal frame!!! - now just have to make correct 6mm aluminium side rails from today's templates. Coming together nicely.

Dropped the engine back out quickly to get the fuel lines and some wiring completed, now that's has been done engine back in and more bits and pieces done around the engine bay including fitting the modified oil catch tank and upgraded engine mounts - just left with a quick service on the dizzy, fit fuel lines to carbs and fit drive shafts - going to get the ITG air filters as recommended by 911hillclimber.

Started wiring the dash board - made from folded and beaded aluminium sheet I got my guys in work to design and print a dashboard "sticker" I wanted something retro so went for a "60's / 70's aircraft" look - I think it looks the business. Bit of fiddling to do getting the loom (made by Fennlane Motorsport) into place, but very pleased with the quality of the loom and the switches and other fittings. Hope to get the remaining switches on the far side fitted tomorrow night.

I put the relays in the glove box and decided on the radio slot for the fuse box - I prefer the "in car" location as opposed to messing around in the front luggage compartment when trying to sort electrical problems at race circuits - normally when raining!

Got the other side of the dash wired and switches fitted - v pleased with the look - thanks to all you guys with your kind words. I need to find a small trim to fit around the fuses as the opening looks a little unfinished. We're going to make a glove box lid and fit some more vinyl that I've printed matching the vinyl around the switches. Gauges next and all that goes with wiring them, then pop in the front windscreen to finish that part of the car.

Thanks for the kind words re the dash - I don't really have the time to do all the work and just get my designers in work to come up with the ideas then I tweak them to the way I like it. I'm considering doing some "retro" graphics to fit std. dashboards and might offer them on DDK and elsewhere depending on interest. I'll not be a millionaire - but I know that there is an interest in this old skool look.

Got my fuel rails - took a long time to arrive but look the business - not to modern looking - more retro. I needed these as the carbs have had the fuel supply intake increased from an M8 banjo fed with 1mm dia holes to a M10 banjo with 2mm holes allowing much more fuel to be supplied to the carbs for racing.

Image

Fitted them quickly to the Solex's and I'm very happy - one less thing to do before firing the engine up.

Way way back in the early 70's I designed and made weighing machine control panels for may processing companies, and that dash looks just like my designs back then!

The fuel lines on the carbs; are they 8mm ID? They look small on the outside but could be very thin wall tube.
