I got a ride in my dream car, a 911R (prototype 3). It was a real priveledge to follow David Piper in his own 917, in convoy with another 917, a 356 Carrera, a 906, a 904/6, 2 911T/R, the Toad Hall Racing 911ST and various other historic early 911s. I have just added the pictures to my
site
The 911R gets on the cam at just over 6000 rpm

Looks like an excellent weekend. I had my bro-in-law's second wedding instead
Hope the weather didn't dampen things too much.

And I was in the 906 (white with blue stripes)! what a wild, wild weekend. I will never, ever forget the sound of a 906 motor on song at 8500 rpm for as long as I live. In a car that had not seen the light of day in 3 years. Awesome. Due to a (fortunate) lack of organisation, the later parade lap ran without a pace car, so we had Brands at race speed in a 906 for a few glorious minutes

The sheer number and quality of the cars was gobsmacking. When was the last time you saw 3 917's, a 910, 906, 74 Carrera turbo, le Mans winning-GT1, 550 spyder, 911R, 906 powered 911TR (x2!), 934, 935, etc, etc. And that was just the classic stuff.
Managed to secure the 906 in a feature for GT mag today so it should be in GTPP sometime soon.
Will be at Goodwood this weekend so if anyone is going from DDK give me a call on 07855 777721. cheers, Steve
