bouncing rev counter

Post by hot66 »

My rev counter bounces a bit when i change up. If I shift at 6900rpm for example from 2nd to 3rd & keep accelerating the needle drops as I let out the clutch / release the throttle, but bounces as I accelerate again, settling down after a couple of seconds, by which time I need to change gear again :)

what might be causing this? bad connection ?

I had a similar fault, was cured by readjusting my points gap to the correct distance. I'd suggest checking/cleaning your points.
