......but I have returned to early 911 (or should that be 912?) ownership today.

Spent 2 great days in Mid Wales with Mark at RS-911 and have bought Miggs' old 912R

I've been saying since I had the T'E', I've always said that I've been looking for something different and decided that the 912 was it with some mods 8) .

It's actually got a very interesting story, which I'll set out later and is a sound RHD car and a great base and crying out for some 'evolution' (Ian - I'm sure you'll hate me from this point onwards!! )

So the evolution will include:

Mechanically:
an '89 3.2 litre engine with PMO carbs and associated gubbins
915 gearbox
Bilstein shock absorbers
New C12 calipers and discs
Clean and powder coat suspension units
Stainless steel heat exchangers and exhaust (Dansk prob)

Other work:
Strip down and repaint engine bay, underside and boot
New black headliner
New lightweight black carpet sets
New ST seats
New RHD dashboard

More to follow in a separate 'Restoration Thread' in the coming weeks

Can't wait to get it now and try it on those fab Mid-Wales roads around Mark's place 8) Think it'll be fairly lively :P

S'good to be back 8)

Viv - am please that you went for the car - it looks the part and with the mods you are proposing, should be an amazing road car.

Looking forward to seeing / hearing it - should be fantastic (I'll just try and forget about that poor little 4 pot motor that used to reside in the engine bay... )

Here's a couple of pics when it was just finished - it had hardly been driven when these were taken.

Obviously this shot isn't that relevant anymore!

If you've got the 1st year of Ultra VW you'll find a 2 page feature on it 'In The Garage'

Of course it was also featured when finished in both Ultra and Porsche 911 World. Article by our own Uncle KS

Congratulations Viv, nice to see you've found your way back behind the wheel of an aircooled Porsche again!
With all the grunt from a 3.2 it can't fail to put a silly grin on your face.

Bert - could well be, watch this forum!!

Current thought is when it's ready to spend a couple of extra days with Mark in Mid-Wales and give it good shakedown on those awesome roads 8)

Can't wait!!!

Would love to get my stick paws on both of these if anyone has a spare copy they'd like to sell?
