Finally found a previous owner: FBI AGENT!

Post by MartinP »

Just had an email this morning confirming that I have finally found one previous owner of my 912 while it was in the US. The most exciting bit is that it was a gentleman by the name of Brent Braun. FBI Special Agent Brent Braun that is! (now ex-FBI). Would be great to imagine the 912 going out on a drugs bust in LA! I'll post more when I find out further information. 8)

Just got another email back. Brent Braun owned the car from 1974 until the early 1990s when it was bought and exported to the UK.

He bought it from his brother (trying to find out how long his brother owned it - was he the first owner?), and drove the car while attending law school in LA. He joined the FBI in 1978 and used it on his first year of assignment in Seattle before returning to LA in 1981.

The best bit though was the Californian license plate it wore. Bear in mind he was an FBI Special Agent.... 007HMF. 8)

Cool. Very cool.

Well done - I've been trying to track my ex-California 912 history as well. Unfortunately my search has come to an abrupt end as its last owner must have sold on the original registration plates as the ones that came with the car are much later than the car itself...and the wrong colour! (Or is that color?)

If I hadn't found the old sticker with his name typed on the back, then I wouldn't have been able to trace anything! Not really sure why it's taken me this long to have a 'googling' eureka moment, but I'm glad I got there in the end. :)

I traced one of my car's PO in the US - he was called Charles Manzo and worked for the LAPD!

Another cool name and cool job!

Of course, what I really want to find is a picture like this now - except with my car in the background of some LA bust!

How cool!

Does the car still smell of Black coffee and Donuts from the many stakeouts?
