Seems to say S on the lid ? Do you think it is a 2.4S engine on MFI ?

Thats what I thought but does seem to be badged as a 2.4S.
Was there such a thing as a 2.4CIS engine ?

I'm guessing it's a '73.5' 2.4CIS American spec.

Not sure where the decklid badge came from.

I would think that's a later SC lid added later (without the PORSCHE script). Rear end accident?

Engine is US late 73 2.4 CIS by the look of it.

brown 911

Hi all - I saw this car a few months ago before it was painted, its a 73-T/E on CIS, when i looked at it, it was'nt running, i think it was taken to Neil at discount 9 [nr Bridgend]. the body looked good, the paint was a bit patchy and the doors ripply but looked orriginal, it was parked outside in the Welsh rain with puddles in the footwells and it was on a Q plate!!!

All that glitters is not gold (or brown!)
I can never imagine myself buying a car on ebay unless I knew its history or had time to do full checks on it before the listing ended. Porkey's little caption has only reinforced my view. That is unless it was dirt cheap of course !!!!!

Bit like selling at auctions. Unless your are
a) a known company,
b) outrageously wealthy and selling something exotic, or
c) dead,
then it is prety likely you have something to hide.

Convincing myself of this is the only way I can stop myself hitting the 'Bid Now' button more often than I can afford !!

It obviously has had some recent work. 73 rear lights, 72 front lights and a few other bits and bobs but the recaros are looking very nice. If they are original they are valuable.

You are right, would need careful inspection before buying but it looks better than some from the pics.

Mike
