Price seems a bit optimistic at 12500 Euro

That will make the car an early 73MY produced in 72, one of the first 1000 cars originally produced for the European market. But they all ended up in the US due to demand.

Same as my car, although mine no longer has the windscreen vinyl. As far as I know the windscreen vinyl has no part number.

I'd be interested to know the VIN number.

Ye Gods!! That yellow '14 on the Old Timer site is as yellow as a Saffron Bun that's been left in a tub of lemon curd with a pile of Cheddar cheese melted into it.
I know I'm up for yellow 914s, but yellow seat inserts and dashboard panels???

if you're talking about a Max Moritz 914-6 GT - this has a painted windshield frame, not vinyl-covered

Thankfully it was a very short lived feature. Because there was no trim piece fitted across the bottom, like on the sail panels, after a while it started to lift off.

I have an original factory promo photo from 72 which does show a 2 litre press car (LB SC 717) with this trim, it's the same car that is on the front of brochure 1005.20 'The new VW-Porsche 914/2.0' The cut away drawing has also been modified to show the vinyl trim, bit of black felt tip probably! The same cut away has also been used in other brochures. The car is also featured in a test report in the German magazine Auto Motor Sport , issue 19 from 1972. If I hav'nt put you all to sleep yet, one more interesting fact is all the cars pictured with this extra trim seem to be red.

I'll get me anorak and spend the next half hour putting all me books back on the shelf.

We have a new anorak champ  -Steve is also on the pub quiz team.

The sail vinyl makes it look more like a convertible but I Agree that the A pillar vinyl/paint simply didn't look good. Same thing with those Audi TT thingies which suffer with the same problem.
