Single Cylinder & Piston Install??

Hi All,
well i've managed to source a single barrell and piston for my 911S from the states. Anyone ever hear of motormeister.com?
My only worry is, is it ok to just replace the one piston? Could there be an issue wih balance? This is a new area for me and I want to make sure I don't have any more suprises once I get the parts shipped over here.
Also, I remember reading about the deck height. How does this effect me...is it something that I can align when fitting the parts?
Sorry for what may be vague questions.....i'm now hitting the scary turf.

Motormeister have a reputation. Do a search on PP to see wheter it is good or bad!
The pistons and barrels came in matched sets, labelled "5" or "6", denoting matched deck heights and -1, 0 or +1 (STD) and -1 KD 1, 0 KD 1 and +1 KD 1 (oversize)denoting cylinder diameter . If your new p/c is the same spec than you shouldn't have a problem, but it's worth checking the deck heights anyway.

Hi , Sean.
If you dave done enogh damage to need a piston, it is quite likely the rod is also suspect.
What actually happened?

Hi David, I had the unfortunate experience of launching a valve right out of the head, through the valve cover and into the engine bay....and it all happened a 5K rpm. Not something i'd reccommend, but it has meant a crash course in 911 engineering,which is alot of fun.........and its confirmed for me how good this community is for rallying around and helping each other out.
You find you who your mates are fast...and i've had very good experiences!!!!

I have just heard of a complete, recently rebuilt 2.2S motor for sale. You could transfer all the barrels, pistons, barrels and heads on to your existing bottom end, then sell off what is left as parts.

Just thought i'd close this thread. I finally sourced down a single B&P from ebsracing in the US and it is the correct height.
