# 42 (Hans Herrman / Olivier Gendebien) and # 44 (Bob Holbert / Roy Schechter) Spyders vanquish a field of Testa Rossas, 250s and Birdcage Maseratis to take 1 - 2 at the 1960 Sebring 12 hours

Less successful were the 50 engineers from the International Business Machines Corporation. Despite boasting 5 MB of storage on fifty 24 inch disks, the $1m, 1 ton, 305 RAMAC couldn't be coaxed to time and place the field correctly until the 2nd half of the 12 hr race. It was clear the computer would have no part to play in tomorrow's world

maverick
noun

2. an unbranded calf or yearling.
Origin mid 19th century: from the name of Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), a Texas rancher who did not brand his cattle.

IMHO, safer than my sheet aluminium mono tub Lola.
But my feet are further back than his by about 50mm.
And I have a real roll cage, connected securely to the alum sheet tub....
I think all the race cars were along the same lines. A friend has a Chevron B6 and that is far lighter a build than the 917.
