Superb ‘Racing 911’ T-Shirts (for charity)

Post by Ferry Man »

Hopefully you’ll like these… :)

Early this year Barry approached me with a view to kick starting the charity initiative for 2008.
We’ve put our heads together and tried to find a way I could contribute.
Now, I don’t claim to be a dab hand at welding or panel beating so my training courses wouldn’t be as well attended or successful as Barry’s, therefore what could I do? Well, I can wield a pen and we know how mighty that can be. Hence this T-shirt.
Thanks go to Nick Moss for posting - in a previous thread - a fascinating period photograph of a racing RSR.
It prompted the idea that it could make an excellent clothing design and here it is realized:

Now, do you want one?
Of course you do. Well they’re only available in exchange for a donation to the DDK’s chosen charity. All monies raised will go to MacMillan Cancer Support.

MacMillan help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and campaign for better cancer care. They are reliant upon voluntary donations for 99% of their income.
In the previous two years the early Porsche community on this forum has raised in excess of £12,000 for this cause.
This is just the start of our efforts for 2008, we are hoping to raise as much as £2,000 to help fund their work with these shirts alone. No doubt there will be more fundraising through the year.

Full details of how to get a T-shirt and help our charity are in the next post.

OK, read this carefully.
A shirt can be yours for a minimum donation of £20.
That assumes a payment of £16 for the shirt and £4 to cover postage & packing. If you want more than one shirt you are welcome to order more but please don’t try and quibble over batching your postage cost, each shirt requires a donation of £20 (even if you order 2 together). It’s for charity after all.

A key message is that the £20 donation is a guide. We would welcome larger donations. Please do give as much as you can. Again, it’s for charity after all.

There are two ways to pay. Most people like the ease of settling with PayPal so you can do that. Or you can send a cheque. Credit card payments cannot be accepted.
If you wish to settle by PayPal then forward monies to me: prmadden “at” btinternet “dot” com (you can guess how that email address should be properly typed).
If you wish to pay by cheque make it out to Paul Madden and send to: Hart Press, Unit 11-13, Redfields Park, Fleet, Hampshire, GU52 0RD.
Kindly make payments through me. It’s easier for you and we can keep track of who’s paid and what the overall total is.

Once all the monies are in I will make out one total cheque to MacMillan and Barry will present it on behalf of DDK. We’ll donate in the most tax efficient way (Gift Aid).

For either payment method it is important that you ensure you advise your name (and forum user name if you have one), your delivery address and the size you require. The shirts will be sent by Royal Mail.

Just to make it clear, all the monies raised will go to the charity.
I’ve bought the T-shirts and paid for the silk screen printing. I will also supply the envelopes, label them, ship the goods out and pay the postage. I’ll even cover any fees deducted by PayPal. All you’ve got to do is give generously. Everything given goes to the charity. So please be magnanimous. It’s a worthy cause.

I’ve produced 100 shirts. They are only available in Gulf Blue. The mix of sizes was an educated guess, I thought maybe a few ladies and a load of burly blokes.
We have available: 3 x XS, 5 x S, 30 x M, 35 x L, 22 x XL & 5 x XXL.
It’ll be pretty much first come, first served. Unless you make a large donation, in which case we might engineer some queue jumping.
Please post here if you’re interested in obtaining a shirt. Kindly advise what size(s) you’d require and then we can start fulfilling orders.
