Question for those in the know. It seems that my TAG Heuer isn’t manual winding. If I’ve let it run down, then I can’t manual wind it. But if I wear it for a bit, self winding does the trick. Does this sound feasible? If I listen I can hear what sounds like the manual wind doing something, but not making it as far as the main spring…
Any ideas who can take a look. I’m not impressed by the TAG service department after the last service where the hands weren’t actually attached properly ( dangled downward!!)

Looking for some advice from our watch experts please......I have a 25 year old Tag Heuer Chronometer (CH5112), I have had it serviced a couple of times over the last five years or so but believe both organisations have now stopped trading. The date has now stopped working (both in terms of changing each day and no response if you try and adjust it forward) whilst the watch will lose a couple of mins per week. Can anyone suggest where I should send it (have not tried Tag Heuer at Worsley but have read more than a few poor reviews) for service/repair or would that be false economy given the amount of work that would be required and should I therefore be looking to replace?
Any advice appreciated.

My watchmaker could service it - common issue with the date. There's a lever which snaps. Getting parts is harder now but shouldn't be a major issue. PM me if you want me to get it looked at

IWC Mens Rose Gold watch
The movement is the caliber 88 which is extremely rare first sold in Lisbon Portugal 1947. I have owned the watch for around forty years regularly serviced until 2005 then placed in the safe, time now for someone else to enjoy this rare and elegant time piece.
Condition is very good to excellent in my estimation and having worn it these last few days keeps perfect time
pice £3200-00

I took this photo of my car's interior for the story I wrote for 000 Magazine on vintage Rally equipment (also included an outtake)... they used it as the lede shot and that was pretty cool.

Although Steve McQueen is always associated with the Heuer Monaco which he wore in the film ‘Le Mans’ it’s worth remembering that was a prop. He actually wore a Rolex submariner when not filming. But what was his favourite watch in every day life? He wore a 1939 Hanhart, on my wrist today is this lovely reissue by Hanhart with a manual Valjoux movement and a real presence given 40mm case.
