VW Northwest aka Tatton Park Sunday August 12th.

Post by Der Fudgemeister »

Thought,

Many a ddk'er started out with a Veedub and moved up to a Porsche. Maybe worth having a presence here and to spread the ddk gospel to the jaded air cooled VW enthusiast.

Sadly I dunno if i can make it 'cos i may be working over that w'end.

It's not on that weekend - it's on the next one...Sunday 12th August.

I have my free pass as an exhibitor in the 'VW' 914 section (a bit tatty, but great fun sub-section), so I very much hope to be there - and dare I say the weather could have cheered by then?

BTW, turn-up on the 5th, and you can choose from:

Fun Dog Show :grommit:

10 novelty classes including saddest eyes, waggiest tail and scruffiest dog, plus a fun agility course (try it if your fit enough). Rosettes to fourth place. 12 noon start £1 entry fee per class plus normal park entry charges

or:

Viking Sunday (I can't see a 'viking' emoticon, so here's some pillaging: :pottytrain2: :occasion5: )

The Vikings are coming..! Experience battle and domestic life with Cestrescire Living History as they invade and take over Tatton’s Old Hall.
11am – 5pm (last entry 4pm)
Normal admission prices apply.

- I'm sure it would still be fun!

Oh B*L*O*KS I got the date wrong

Post by Der Fudgemeister »

Hiya Carl,

Sorry 'bout dat but thats what you get when you try and do several things at once, mess things up in a busy purchasing office during afternoon 'Tiffin'.
My 'Ex sed dat blokes can't multi task :?

Damn it she was right too.

Ask me how i know.

Thanks for the date correction fella. I'm more of a domestic cat person myself.
FWIW a 912E has the heart of a 2 litre 914/4 so at a future VWNW event could me and the Fudgester get a pass for the 'VW' 914 {- 2} section?.

We usually go to this show as we have family in Manchester that we spend saturday evening with and then go to the show on Sunday. We are going this year too.

Have been to it quite a few times, but its usually in the Ghia or Beetle.

Am really looking forward to the drive up in my "new" 912 tomorow evening.

Just spoken to the Karmann Ghia Owners club as i usually have my Ghia on the club display but this year they already have one "non VW" in the form of a Volvo 1800 and no spare passes left.

She's managed to get me a display pass for the "M-A-D Dubbers club" something or the other, so will be on there with my 912 all being well.

Am planning to arrive around 10 - 11ish all depends on how heavy tonight is i guess! (It always starts as out as "a couple of quiet drinks"!)

Hope to see a few of you there. We should try to meet up at say, 12.30pm at the 914 display area.

Good to put some more faces to names at Tatton today, weather turned out not too bad at all. Andrew got his rear screen as well.
Nice drive home over the Cat and Fiddle with a minbus and a Cheshire Police Volvo for company so no chance fo a bit of fun!!

As always, it was a great show. We got there quite a bit later than planned.

Was amazed how much attention the 912 was getting as we parked up in the club display area.

Also managed to meet Boz on the way out by total fluke which was cool too! Nice one for stopping me mate.

I got a couple of pictures which i will upload later.
