Excellent news John - Great to hear that its been restored.

The only picture I have is the one I posted on this thread. If you send me an email, I'll see if I can dig out the contact details of the chap I purchased it from - He may be able to shed some more light on its recent history.

I must get around to writing this thread up for the website, would be an interesting resource I think. What do you guys think? Chasis numbers will always be a problem though I think published in this way...

Great idea Gavin - I reckon it would be a fantastic resource for all. I can supply registrations of all the RHD 912's I've had over the years. Unfortunately I havent made notes of every chassis number.

PS - Arent OGP 6E and FYM 3C one chassis digit apart?

I still need to write you something on the super early 350254 - Still stumped by its VDO oil pressure dial, havent seen another!

I have started collecting parts for my rebuild of FGW10C. Has anyone got a slam panel that does not have the flat area where the chassis plate fits onto as on the later cars. It does not need to be new, an old rusty one will suffice

350 697 is mine bought early last year after hibernating in a warehouse since 1983 ish...? Currently stripped to bare shell. Waiting house reno's to complete (and a big shed) to begin rebuild

I believe there is also another early 912 in Canberra that I am trying to track down at present.

Well I've been busy preparing and researching early panels so when I have time, i will have all the right parts at my fingertips. I have now made patterns to remanufacture the correctly detailed sills for the 64 - 68 cars, and although these pictures show my version for the 69-84 cars, be rest assured that this detail will be correct
Image

Image

Having a very good Edwards 40" box and pan folder, enables me to make this in less time than it takes to mod a genuine porsche one. Additionaly no 2 cars sills fit the same especially on the early ones, so with carefull measuring, an exact fit to the door can be acheived every time

Lastly a picture viewed from underneath showing how well it follows the line of the door

Image

The 64 -68 will have the correct detail around the jacking point, and include the round hole in the base at the front. Will post some more pictures of the complete sill before fitting off the car.

An old thread returns! Earlier/above David Kennedy suggested 350576 may have been the first UK RHD car. Is that still the view? I have recently been told about 350574 - apparently also RHD and in the UK at some point in its life, but not clear if it was first delivered here. Anyone know any more? Many thanks, Robert
