Rumours on the PCGB forum that they may have the PCGB national event at the Silverstone classic in 2007

I know we have discussed having a big DDK meet at Silverstone classic too.

Looks like it could be a great big Porsche party

I'm booking it into my diary. Lets hope we can have some Classic Lemans style DDK camping close by

I plan on being there, camping wherever the DDK'ers are I've never had such a larf as CLM and the thought of a DDK Silverstone Classic gathering is just enough to lift the post CLM blues (which I'm still suffering with )

Count me in. Silverstone hasn't really got the same vibe or Porsche heritage as Le Mans but it was still really good. Thanks to Mike and Phil there was a DDk presence overnight. I'm sure we could get the campsite to set us aside a patch. Toilets aren't as nice as Le Mans though!

What with no CLM next year this has to be a biggy.

But as Silverstone is just up the road from our other house I think I might be poping back to borrow the shower and facility's

Yep the toliets were crap . . . . . (unless you walked up to the main building). They were the old blue water, building site type with no light.

Porsche is the specialist marque for the event next year (as Aston was this year). I'd not heard that PCGB are using it for the National event, but makes sense to me. Not sure who you'd have to contact at Silverstone, but there's nothing I can see stopping DDK from having their own area (i.e. it's a truely public event, unlike Brands Hatch).

Okay so some DDK special events are in the pipeline to keep you restless campers amused

Technical Demonstration - Barry Carter......(special feature, making a Silk Purse from a Sow's Ear)

Southern English for the Northerner - Ian Donkin (phrase books with DDK logo will be produced and handed out)

Staying within MoT laws and Regulations -Alam (book early to take advantage of the 'Dealing with Law enforcement Officers' segment)

Cookery on a Budget - I'll take that.....BIG budget of course, there will be a sub segment, hosted by Mike Moore on trolley dashing and how to get your Tesco trolley to comply with FIA regulations

Efficient Use of Tent Space - I think Paul can take that one....again a bonus segment here folks if you book early - 'Tent Painting for the Artisitically Challenged'

Discovering Hidden Spares - Andy Boyle will lead this...just be careful folks as you never know where they might pop from next!

Forthcoming Events - James Puttock....there will an exclusion here though, the third Weds of the month causes him problems. Another bonus segment of 'Using a Video Camera Whilst Driving at 100 mph' (always popular this one)

Buying and Selling New/Used/Old/Whatever Porsches - Helen Goff

and of course, my personal favourite

Flower Arranging - will be led by Auntie Betsy, with another bonus segment - Make yourself a Macrame VW logo'....sure to be popular with you VeeDubbers out there!

All event fees to the club charity of course

To round it all off - back by popular request.....the Camp Singalong led by our very own Phil Johnson
