Fuel Pumps for 2.2 MFI engine

Post by Deconstructor »

Are there any alternatives (read cheaper) to the original fuel pump or do I have to go for £200+ for a new Bosch one?

Thanks in Advance

sorry mate, its Bosch or Bosch, and I think you'd be looking well north of GBP200 for a new working pump, they're more than that second hand!

Don't forget if you get a second hand pump off another engine it will need to match your cams i.e. 2.2S pump will only work with 2.2S cams unless you recalibrate the pump (which again isn't cheap). In fact you may need to recalibrate the pump even if it's off the same type of engine!

Hang on did you say FUEL pump? as in the pump that moves fuel from the tank to the MFI pump? If you did, please ignore the above as I thought you meant MFI pump.

If it's the FUEL pump then some of the guys in the states use Carter pumps, but I belive you may need to installa pressure regulaotr as the flow rates aren't the same as the Bosch original, see:
