Ha ha I agree this part of Le Mans was utter Crap!!



No but really for paying resonable money for the camp site it was a rip off.. There must me more toilets and showers for 2008 totaly not fair on every one...

But on a better note.. I must thank Super U for their loan of there toilets and washing basins for these where the cleanest in France as far as we were concerened.......

I had this discussion with many people. They've got several campsites and could offer something different in each. How about Maison Blanche costing £200 for the weekend but having good purpose built (i.e. not portacabins) toilets and showers, a bar, a place selling ice, beer etc. Then have cheaper campsites offering less. I think most people go camping for the fun of being on the track, not because they can't afford a hotel. Back in the 60's & 70's, people camped because they had to so the ACO laid on the bare minimum. It must be even more apparent at the real 24Hrs, queues for the latrines winding around air conditioned Winnebagos.

Still, I enjoyed every second of it and will be back next time. Car and tent outside drying at the moment.

We could take a leaf out the Dutch 356 guys..

Chip in and hire our own Portable toilets how PCGB is that..

The Toilets at Maison Blanche were pretty bad - I was camping at Tetre Rouge and we had two of those articulated shower/toilet units which were very good.

Hmm me thinks we need to switch to Tetre Rouge next year - my nephew was camping there with the TSSC and described it as luxury

It is quite noisy because it's near the main road but during the racing it's quite noisy anyway . Nice and close to the Dunlop bends and the Tetre Rouge corner is a 5min walk. I was staying with TSSC too -good bunch of guys.
I think its 'grass is greener' though because when I visited the DDK camp I liked the tarmac'ed roads and the nice flat grassy plots + the burger van just outside. It was nice to see all the varied Marques camping in one place too..

I really didn't think the portable toilets near the Dutch 356 boys were too bad. The ones near the entrance had a certain aroma that challenged the stomach, so best avoided. Otherwise I thought they did a good job considering the traffic through them. Certainly not enough toilets though. Could do with double the number.

£200 is way too much, dodgy facilities are all part of the experience You have to keep the experience fairly level and basic or the spirit is lost amongst the carpeted shower pavilion

All part of the experience: makes for a better story to tell when you get home: 'I braved the Maison Blanche Toilets, and lived to tell the tale'.

How was the Chateau? Presume the showers were hot, Montrachet chilled and the lavs plentiful! Should have braved the campsite with the rest of us and enjoyed the BEST party at CLM

Unfortunately the Boss booked herself on the trip , other wise what a great w/end , specially sad abt being in a square at Molicorn eating when the penalties went in !

The Toilets not too bad... Trust me the one time i thought I would brave them on the Monday morning.. I got as far as opening the door on two of them and Trust me the picture if I had taken it would make all vom..

I just turned round and held my but cheeks I now have the best but cheeks in the South.....

Well till I got to the safety of the Super U Super Airconded luxuary super market..

I am thinking of renting a RV next time.

i was at maison blanche and i figured that it was quicker going to the Super U in Arnage for a S & S

though nothing like being home and enjoying your own privy mmmmmmmm
