Took the 911 out today to see if tight CV bolts have made a difference...
Too true, rear end silent as a lamb (or as much as a 73 911 can be).
Wish getting into 2nd was better, but have adjusted it to death.
On setting out, there were a few squeaks from the front (of course) so decided that must be the anti-roll bar in the rubber bushes. The squeaks went after 1/2 mile.
Stripped the drop links off and the bar arms and loosened the triangular covers off the body. They could be twisted by hand quite readily, so about right, but WD40'd them and then followed by some engine oil drops. Did the same to the poly-bushed drop link bushes and back together both sides.
Has been about 15 years since this lot had any TLC.
No rusty bolts, lovely, and touched-up some gravel rash on the inner wings with trusty Hammerite Smooth Black (gloss) same as originally applied in 1988 and still there!
Sometimes the Good Old Stuff is spot-on.
Thinking of doing some one day club events in the car alongside the Lola next year in the car.

ST TLC time. Brake fluid change, new brake light switch, oil and filter change and grease door hinges. None of it by my fair hand. Off to the MOT station. First time the car has been MOTed since it was back on the road quite a few years ago. First time pass with no advisories. The MOT station is very sympathetic to Porsche as they see a lot from Autofarm. The ST could do with a clean inside and out but that is for the time it gets disgustingly dirty.

I got round to sorting out the drivers (LHD) window. I was hard to wind up/Down.
Took out the frame, removed the crusty frame felt, cleaned out the glue and replaced with new felt. Polished out a scratch in the glass. Cleaned the winder mechanism thoroughly and replaced the failing spring pivot.
Feels great now - on the downside, it has made the passenger window feel worse - so that's tomorrow's job.

MOT day for the 1970 S. No TLC as that was last month courtesy of Gary Cook at GDC. Passed MOT with no advisories. Covered 2052 miles since the last test.

After a hard wet hillclimb Sat/Sun took the 911 to the Plum Festival car show at Pershore today.
All very relaxed and guest of the TR Register group.
Some fab cars there, the effort people make is amazing, nearly bought 6 cars while walking around the 710 cars there.

Told my fuel pump off to clean it. I might get a gasket kit and check inside. However, seems they are available rebuilt from sellers
