Interesting. Charles Bulmer, the editor of Motor Magazine had it after my father (from 1950) and by then the colour scheme was changed and he ran it without spats. Image
You might think you’d take them off for hill climbing too, but in 1937 it ran up Bo’Ness with them on. Streamlining? Actually I reckon in this actual picture it’s one time Grand Prix driver Leslie Thorne at the wheel. Having been through the hill climb results it’s the run that tallies with the race number 43. 3rd fastest of the day. Not trying hard enough obvs.

I did the Prescott school in 1990, so about 35 years ago...
Doing a school day is really worth while and to have Robert to help is a bonus.

So, that's you hooked, blame it on Jonathan! :)
I blame both of you Graham, and my father.
Actually many of the drivers at the school were old hands - doing it because you get the most number of runs in the one day - really good value.

I ran/organised the school at Loton Park for 7 years in the last decade.
Over 50% were frequent school attendees, all a bit of A Grand Day Out.

Hope you get to Loton with the VSCC, a long hill and quite a challenge to do quickly, but they all are!!

Quite honestly Graham, before I did the Prescott school, I thought I’d only ever do the one event, just so I could say I’d at least done a hillclimb in the car. But everyone seems to say that Loton is special, so you never know..

Hi Jeremy,
I hope you went to VSCC Wiscombe in the sunshine yesterday with your lovely FN.
We were at Harewood for the weekend, very wet on Saturday, dry but very cold yesterday.
We’ll look forward to seeing you at some of the events now that you’ve caught the bug!
Cheers

Hi JW. Sadly I didn’t go to Winscombe in that beautiful weather - it looked like a great weekend - I’ve seen the pics on the FN Facebook page. I’m not doing the whole season this year - just dipping my toe in the water with Prescott in August. I’ll see how much the bug has bitten after that!

Sadly this is why we’ll be missing the Big DDK weekend this year - it all clashes with Prescott.
Best of luck on the hills this year.

They’ve got your lovely Stella Bianca’s Dougal, as it says earlier in the thread. And currently there’s no major oil leak. Si Blakeney Edwards sees to that.
