Have to agree Gary...
Anyway, all fits with no mods needed. Really chuffed with the result. Just a few little things to sort out i.e. Oil pressure and Oil temp senders. Then should be good to get some oil in the system ready to fire up. Finger crossed.

Whilst waiting on some new bezels for the gauges, I've made some new engine lid hinges in aluminium. Weight a lot less than the Chesil steel ones.

Hi Rich,
Did you get them laser cut or were you at it with a jigsaw drill and files.....really like the look of them though and they go really well with the rest of the Ally in the engine bay. Might be tempted to make some of my own if you post a few details about how you did it and how long they took to make.
Great work that Engine bay looks better than an original.

To be honest Rob they never took long at all. I guess it's more about having the right tools to do any job that makes things quicker. Although if you got the time it can be done with basic tools. I did have to have the tabs tig welded.

New gauges now installed. Oil pressure and a CHT gauge....

As daft as it sounds Greg. Having these clocks in this location was planned a few years ago when l made the steering column bracket and re-glasses to bottom of the dash. All in prep for the new engine of coarse.

Yes its running and just done the first oil change after 500 miles last week. All of 9ltrs still golden. Such a shame to bin it
Also sailed through the MOT today.
In short. The old 1911cc to new 2270cc is amazing. Both good in there own right. 1911 pulled well and had a smooth cam delivery through the rev range up to 5000 then starts to fall off. 2270 pulls well also then it comes on cam and it takes of and don't stop and keeps pulling.
Booked into rolling road next month so will report back the findings.
