This fabricator knows what he is about.
Interesting to see extensive use of TIG, the modern form of gas welding.
Nice work and hence a nice thread.

Firstly, what a great result. Looks superb and the repairs have been great to see.
Secondly, thank you for sharing this and reporting it so well. These threads are a joy for anyone who has or is putting their cars to how they should be.
Thirdly, and this is no negative, just a question:
When the shell is on the spit roast frame and the floors removed the shell must distort? (bend/twist/both) either under its own weight or the stresses 'welded-in' during the restoration and when it was built relieve themselves?
The times I've done this kind of thing (all of 6 times, only one being a 911 which took 8 months of home part time welding to fix) I've tack welded braces across the shells. Admittedly this induces it's own risk of distorting and retaining previous misalignments too...
Maybe the movements are too small to worry about?
I look forward to the easy bit of your restoration, the shiny build-up!
