Gill,
The results look very good, He seems to understand the 356 very well. For sure its costly as its time and effort, nothing ever goes easily on these cars. I have followed the restorations on ABCGT.com for years now and Justin Rio on his 356 A cars has shown so many similar photos to your the ones your guy has done.
All you can say is the expense is going on the right car and the right model. It will look great when finished. I did all the welding and leading on my car five years before you were born

Thought I was talking to you at the Luftgekuhlt show at Bicester on Sunday, but it was another guy with a Meissen blue 59.

That’s him, Buses, 911s, 912s, Beetles, 356s etc.
He’ll do anything - apparently.

Apart from a ropey ‘68 Beetle, which is why he sold it to me!
I should have realised if he wouldn’t touch it then it wasn’t possible to save it!

Did you view it before purchasing?
I bought an apparently original bonnet handle off this forum for my A & ended up with a right lemon. Took me a full refinish & trial attempt at fitting my original badge to find out it was a poorly advertised junk repro.
Either that or the seller genuinely didn’t know. The advert certainly suggested they did however.

No, it was cheap, it was eBay, I’d had a drink.
100% my fault, only a few 100 anyway.
Anyway back to your lovely 356!

Ah.
Didn’t think Paul would intentionally swindle anyone.
