Thanks Guys, in comparison to the "in your face" 930 Hotrod this one is going to be a bit of a sleeper with just a few external hints that all is not as expected under the engine cover!

I've been a little slack with updating these projects lately, so i'll endeavour to catch up whilst on holidays.

we left this project with the engine about to go back together, which it did, although it hasn't run yet.











Spec is a high compression twin plug 3 litre on EFi throttle bodies. Likely and Omex ECU.

Meanwhile the bodywork progressed.

The rear bumper sections were trial fitted



And the panels got painted





And finally the shell.







And then everything was rubbed down again and polished back up.



The process from left to right.

1.Bare Metal
2.Epoxy Primer
3.Filler primer (dry sanded)
4.Finishing primer (wet flatted)
5.Base Coat
6.Laquer
7.Flatted (1500, 2000, 3000)
8.Polished

5 and 6 get combined if you are using a solid 2K paint.

And with the panels hung back on the shell takes shape.

Next the suspension starts to go back together.





And on display at the Dublin Classic Car show earlier this year.

Thanks largely to a full work load in the workshop this project has sat as a painted shell for the last two years

Although I've been slowly gathering together parts and reconditioning others so it was ready to assemble. A looming LeMans Classic had me motivated







The first job is always the wiring loom. Its a job that required patience and also a chunk of uninterrupted time so perhaps that is one reason why I've not made a start on reassembly even when I have had a bit of spare time.

A daunting task if you think about it too long



So best to just get stuck in. Made a little more complicated by the fact that this is a backdate so I wanted to strip out all the wiring installed in the later donor car that wasn't required. ( head light washers, electric mirrors, fog lights etc)





And also converting to one of Classic Retrofits excellent fuse panels.

great thread, somehow missed it the first time.

With the wiring loom run I now needed to start to fit the electrical items it powers to enable it to be tested.

So items such as the wiper motor, front and rear lights etc started to go back in.



Bumpers are mounted for the final time with rubbers in place, heating system and brake servo etc

I had started the suspension previously but never finished all four corners so that was next.







Along with running all the other cables and pipes down the centre tunnel - fun, fun, fun...
