You should have just interrupted us...Brendan (DDK team coach) only giving us some driving tips that he has picked up over the years, pushing his imaginary 911 out of his garage then pushing it back inmisteralz wrote:...and here's the pair of you looking pensive:
I would have stopped for a blether, but you were totally in the zone. Both cars looking great. I've got some action pics, too. Will fire them up later!

Re: BO'NESS HILLCLIMB REVIVAL 2016
And the winner of the DDK class is...a draw!
We were well matched alright:
Day 1 best time
Johnny 37.68
Margaret 37.77
Day 2 best time
Margaret 37.45
Johnny 37.70
Although I am pursuing the clerk of the course to DQ Margaret - her car was tampered with post-scrutineering on the second day, by a magical being from just South of Kendal.. being helped by three heavies..

Johnny and Margaret
Sorry I couldn't be there to cheer you on. I really wanted to be at the event to watch you both.
Maybe you can let us know how it all went and how you feel sitting on that staring line. What goes through your head? What are you concentrating on? How did the cars perform? What else was in your class? We're you better than last year? Come on, let's hear about it all. Any more pictures?
Regards
Mike

Damn, you beat me by even more than I thought you did!! Margaret, brilliant driving, well done. DDK challenge for next year indeed. Maybe we need our own trophy!kitten1 wrote:

So, its a funny thing, I have uploaded the go pro videos, and
a) they make it look really short, which it is, but it is so much fun it doesn't matter - and also it doesn't feel like you are totally trashing the car and
b) they make it look kind of easy, which it isn't! I was panting hard at the end of each run.
Brilliant fun, and yes Margaret and I couldn't compete with the flying MacKinnons in a race prepped RS, but we could compete with each other - and it came down to 10ths of a second separating us. So, actual racing in actual Porsches, that costs a couple hundred quid for the weekend and no engine rebuilds or multiple sets of tyres needed. Add in 12,000 spectators, great craic with fellow DDKers, a great vibe in the paddock with happy marshals and relaxed scrutineering..just adds up to a grand weekend all round.
I also found a compadre in the 964's all sorts class - Alisdair in a 944 Turbo SE Silver Rose - like the 964 a 130k mile family road car on street tyres. Also with 250hp, but very differently deployed. And a great guy, and he drove it hard.
Our times:
Day 1 964: 33.60. 33.96 944: 33.71 33.57
Day 2 964: 34.62 34.47 944: 34.43 35.12
Great sport!
