Well he went for a low mileage, black, ltd edition 350Z.
He had a good look through the this thread and was interested by responses.

Not a bad choice really. Though its been around a while now and I think its due for an update if not already, I'm abit out of touch with modern stuff.

I'm surprised how rarely consideration of a well sorted 964 comes up in cases like this.
I acquired mine almost by accident, and not with a lot of enthusiasm originally, but have become a real convert. In five years it has cost me two valve adjustments and a fair bit of oil (very little of it through leakage), but has given me loads more pleasure driving than I ever thought possible.
I'd take a 964 ahead of a 996 any day. In terms running costs only, though, I can certainly see justification in a Boxter. Just that I don't want one.

It's a 3 series so not exactly huge - you'd get three in the back, but not for long journeys
