Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
With such modifications to the shell does this now go on a ‘Q’ plate or does bolting/gluing carbon fibre bits on it not change the structure? Or is it, in DVLA’s eyes, essentially the same car?

Get your 911k heads. The good news is they're actually good for 12k. The bad news is they cost 36k

Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
Silly question but the bottom end of the 993 engine will rev to 12k? There must be other changes?

Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
I think you need to build the motor with negative mass pistons and rods to get it to rev to 12k!

Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
Rods in my Lola's 3.2 are rated to 10K, the big end bolts being the factor that gets you there.
Pistons much the same.
12K is high.

It would be great if Swindon could make two more versions for earlier engines - 80mm stud spacing and 86mm stud spacing. (964/993 stud spacing is 90mm)

I can only imagine that the driver never sees the driver's side carpet, was they'll be too busy, and the passengers side will need to sick-proof/wipe clean......

Re: Chris Harris and the Tuthil 911
Reads like he is well in love with the whole experience.
Looks on the outside so very conservative and most impressed he got it very dirty, 11/10 in my books.

£400k aren’t they? How much extra do you reckon they’d want to get the doors and bonnet to fit well?stevenery wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 11:36 am The Pistonhead's car of Andrew D is now complete. Seems pleased with it!
