These arrived today from Carbone, lovely. Not sure how they will look on the Targa, going to try them. Lovely rich colour to the lenses.

Small update on the car, passed its MOT yesterday. The car is with George Morrison at the moment and he took it home last night to run the car and report back. The 2 year old in the tank fuel didn't deliver, fresh tank of shells finest has improved things greatly. The car will get a hydroclean today which can only help.

The seals on the targa roof looks a bit worse for wear, cosmetically I think these would really sharpen up the look of the car when the roof is off. Minor stuff I know. When I have suggested this I have been put off on the basis of leave well alone. It would appear this is a tricky and skilled job to renew these and have a cosmetically well fitting quiet roof. Delighted to discover that the wind noise is so bad that 60mph is a struggle. :( Looks like the seals will need changing or even one of the seals are missing.

I will try Porsche in the first instance but can anyone recommend an alternative? I see southbound offer a kit and will try them as well.

For older 911s (not sure whether this includes the 3.2, but definitely the SC), the seal over the front screen supplied by Porsche and others is too tall, and impacts the Targa roof fitment. Dan Petchel in the US has remanufactured the original spec seal, which is highly rated by those that have used it. I bought one, but am a little way off being ready to fit, so no personal evidence of how good it is.

Stopped in to see the car at lunch time today and took her for a quick spin. Drives really well, wind noise is as I had ben told, unberabale. I held the wheel with my knees and pulled the roof down from insde which cured the noise, just not sure I really want to drive this way when I am doing more than 40mph. At least I now know with the roof tight it is quiet.

This is the first I have driven the car and was pleasently surprised, the G50 gearbox is lovely, really precise. Brakes felt very vague, again the disk and pads have just been changed so I will need to let them bed in. Some minor things to fix and I will be lowering the ride height slightly, sits way too high at the moment.

The ride height below looks perfect to me.

Talk to Garry at Classic Fx about the Targa roof and its seals as he has done quite a few for DDKers very successfully
http://classiccarrestorationsurrey.co.uk/

BTW I can listen to Radio 4 at 90 without too much trouble so the roofs do not have to be excessively noisy

It is great that you are getting out in it though and it looks good

Tom, is the frame located properly with the cover as this is a common issue and easy fix when correct and fitted tightens against the seals so reduced wind noise.....might be an easy fix?

Collected the car ealrier in the week and took it out for a spin with the roof off today, what a lovely car. Lots of small jobs done, George Morrison used it while I was on holiday and put a few hundred miles on it to check all was well. I still have to clean it but loving it so far.

Looks fabulous Tom. Personally I wouldn’t go with the yellow lenses on that body/interior colour combo.
It looks perfect the way it is but your choice. Now comes the hard part. Letting it go......

I agree Mike, now I have the car not sure the yellow lenses work. Won't go wrong, they will fit something else in the future.
