I have recently restored a B T6 with a 6 volt system, as I needed to replace a lot of the lights I decided to incorporate LED bulbs wherever I could the reason being that it would offer a brighter light, it would reduce the drain on the battery and bearing in mind the wiring is over 50 years old the load would be lower.
The bulbs were all provided by classiccarLED and were a straight drop in for the tungsten originals, the exception being the head lights, i used their 6volt H4 setup which meant that I needed to replace the existing reflectors and as I had an old set of 911 headlights , I was able to do this cheaply. There was a bit of fiddling around getting the H4 LEDs into the headlight bowl as there is not much room in there and the back projection of the bulb made life difficult but I did succeed without any bodywork modification.
I had to replace the blinker module for an LED one which was straight forward.
The result is the lights are much brighter, I can see and be seen and the lower load on the wiring looms and switches give me peace of mind. The only drawback I can see is the lights flicker slightly on tick over as the dynamo is not providing sufficient current, other than that I am pleased with the results.
For the purists out there, I have kept all the parts taken off to do this conversation so the car can easily be put back to the tungsten system it was born with.

Did you get ant further with the LEDs Simon ?

There's a thread over on the Registry in the US but some of the discussion is about LEDs from the UK.
