So... Whats the litte differences from a Covin to a 911?

Obviously one is fibreglass, but it looks like most real 911 glass fit the cars.

Some have water-cooled engines, some flat 4's...

Its like a 911 but with out the rusty kidnybowls and front skuttle.

But with an equally rusty Beetle pan!

Will handle slightly differently too!

However this project is more about having some fun along the way as far I can see it.

yup, i have a 150bhp 600kg '72 mini for 'handling'. This covin is just for fun.

True to its roots you MUST have a proper deck lid stand off...

What about size details?

Is it shorter? wider?

Like the 356 beetle kits differ in size from Chesil to others?

narrower track and about 3/4 inch difference in the wheelbase (a bit shorter than a lwb 911). body tub is essentially the same overall dimensions - the front wings, bonnet, front bumper, deck lid, doors glass etc are all interchangable with 911/912

So whats lurking beneath the engine lid??? Is that a water pipe l see coming out the grill??

its a 1600cc ford cvh injected lump. Good for about 105bhp but the car only weight 850kg so on a par with a 912. I've also got a fruity rotary engine rated for around 150bhp, with adaptor plate to mate to the vw gearbox.
